Canyoneering/Hiking Expeditions

Barker River Expeditions offers overland truck supported Hiking and Canyoneering Expeditions in the spectacular Jarbidge River, Bruneau River and Owyhee River Canyonlands from April through October.  These Canyonlands offer a sense of solitude and serenity rarely encountered in one’s lifetime.  The tributaries drain one of the most remote and dramatic high desert plateaus in North America.

Our expeditions are a great way to examine the geology and history of the area while indulging in a vacation away from the ordinary.  Few people have ever seen these hidden canyons.

Canyoneering/Hiking Expeditions are available April through October. Each year we customize our schedule to best suit our guests needs, including adding 2 or 3 days of this activity to a river trip. Contact us to develop a trip!

We outfitted an expedition with NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC for their show, “Going Wild.”  The route I took them on was tremendous and made me realize I wanted to share these amazing Canyonlands with my guests.  We have many fantastic hiking adventures and often explore areas which I have been to personally, but have not shown any guests until now. Be among the first to experience these canyons!

We will create an exciting adventure just for you, with memories that will last a lifetime.  These trips are a more affordable way to explore this region and the season is much longer than rafting.  From short day hikes supported by vehicle to more adventurous nights sleeping out in a gorge, these trips are truly spectacular.

I look forward to exploring with you, your family and friends, all the stunning grandeur of the Jarbidge, Bruneau, and Owyhee Canyonlands.
