Join me on the most exciting rivers I have experienced anywhere! I have guided river trips all over the American West and the world, including in Peru, Chile, Africa, and Costa Rica. The Jarbidge, Bruneau and Owyhee Rivers continue to draw me back again and again.
The Jarbidge River, Bruneau River and Owyhee Rivers drain one of the most rugged, remote and spectacular high desert plateaus in North America, flowing through an incised network of canyons and desert gorges in Idaho, Oregon and Nevada.
These rivers are our specialty. Our rafts and equipment are specially designed to allow us to run the rivers later in the season than other outfitters. This allows us to conduct our trips at a time when we will not only encounter fewer people, but we will also enjoy warmer weather. My commitment to you is to outfit and guide the finest river expeditions available. We promise expert guides and first-class service, with memories that are guaranteed to last a lifetime!
These trips are peaceful and relaxing, as no motors are allowed on any of these river sections. We design our whitewater rafting trips to limit our encounters with other groups, allowing you to enjoy these pristine canyons with a minimum of human contact.
On average, we see only one other party every eight days. Compare this to well-known river trips such as the Grand Canyon and the Middle Fork of the Salmon, where you share the river with dozens of other people each day! The Jarbidge River, Bruneau River and Owyhee River Canyonlands simply offer a sense of solitude and serenity rarely encountered in one's lifetime.
"Been paddling for many years. Guided on the Ocoee in Tennessee and the Chattooga (Deliverance) in Georgia. Have been down the New and Gauley in West Virginia too. However I must say that the adventure that Mark Allen and I had with Jon and crew was the best I've ever experienced. The sequence of rapids, portages and hiking is unique. Doing the Jarbridge and Bruneau together was a grand paddle and hike. The crew did a great job cooking and helping set up camp. All together it is a trip that any adventurer should experience."
