Jarbidge, Bruneau and Owyhee River Rafting
Barker River Expeditions in the News
The Jarbidge, Bruneau, and Owyhee Rivers drain one of the most rugged,
remote, and spectacular
high-desert plateaus in North America, flowing through an incised network
of canyons and desert gorges in Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada.
Your wilderness rafting experience is peaceful and relaxing, as no motors are
allowed on any of these river sections. We design our whitewater rafting
trips to limit our encounters with other groups, allowing you to enjoy
these pristine wild canyons with a minimum of human contact.
On average, we see only one other party every eight days. Compare this to well-known river trips such as the Grand Canyon and the Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho, where you share the river with dozens of other people each day! The Owyhee and Bruneau Canyonlands simply offer a sense of solitude and serenity rarely encountered in one's lifetime.
Join Barker River Expeditions this spring and summer on two of the most exciting rivers I have experienced anywhere! I have guided river trips all over the American West and the world, including in Peru, Chile, Africa, and Costa Rica. The Owyhee and Bruneau Rivers continue to draw me back again and again.
These rivers are our specialty. We have designed unique boats that allow us to run the rivers later in the season than other outfitters. This allows us to conduct our trips at a time when we will not only encounter fewer people, but enjoy warmer weather. My commitment to you is to outfit and guide the finest river expeditions available. We promise expert guides, first-class service, and a spectacular experience in a pristine setting with memories that are guaranteed to last a lifetime!
